# Update targeting

"Update" operations in the targeting model allow modifications in the parameters of one or more specific targeting records, offering precise control over targeting strategies, and enabling you to tailor your targeting criteria effectively and efficiently.

This process is divided into two main sections: [updating the bid](/managing-advertising-accounts/modules/bulk-manager/targeting/update-targeting/update-targeting-bid.md) and [updating the status](/managing-advertising-accounts/modules/bulk-manager/targeting/update-targeting/update-targeting-state.md) (state). You have the flexibility to update either parameter independently or both simultaneously.
